What is parkour?

  • In parkour you learn to use your body to move through the environment efficiently and creatively. Learn to safely jump, land, climb, vault, and flip over real obstacles. By doing parkour, you’ll gain balance, confidence, strength, flexibility, and problem solving skills. You will have fun in a supportive community.

Is parkour a safe sport?

  • One of the first things you learn in parkour is how to land safely. After training for a while you’ll notice yourself moving more confidently and efficiently. Many parkour athletes tell stories of how their new body awareness allowed them to correct a fall that might have caused injury before they began parkour training.

  • Parkour training involves gradual progressions to learn each new skill. We start with a very basic movement and add difficulty in small steps. Each athlete practices the skill at their own level, moving forward only when they feel safe and have mastered the previous step.

  • Parkour obstacles are made of hard materials including wood and metal. Athletes may experience minor scrapes and bruises. These real consequences reinforce a healthy respect for the risks involved.

What certifications do you have?

  • All coaches are certified through Positive Coaching Alliance.

  • Head Coaches have completed Concussion Protocol and CPR/First Aid training.
